Signature Autosports proudly presents this 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG® • 355 SL Restomod—an inspired fusion of old-world design and modern-day engineering. Designed by Alan Derosier (of Legende Automobiles), acclaimed for his work with Gemballa and Radford, it channels the soul of the legendary 1954-1957 300 SL Gullwing while delivering the performance, safety, and reliability of a contemporary AMG®.

Built for the Road—and the Spotlight
Unlike traditional replicas, the 355 SL is a restomod that began with Mercedes-Benz’s most powerful SLK: the R172 SLK 55 AMG. Retaining its factory AMG® drivetrain, high-performance braking system, and luxury amenities, this platform was transformed with a custom-crafted body that faithfully echoes the Gullwing’s classic silhouette—no flared fenders, no compromises. Built in France, the car debuted at the Palm Beach Concours d’Elegance, where it captured the prestigious Modern Era Trophy.

A Daily Driver in Disguise
Beneath its timeless form lies a thoroughly modern driving experience. The naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 delivers its 421 horsepower (310 kW) and 398 lb⋅ft (540 N⋅m) of torque through an AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® Plus 7-speed automatic transmission with shift paddles and Touch Shift manual shift control, Efficiency, Sport, and Manual modes, while KW® adjustable coilovers offer refined handling and ride comfort. The power-to-weight ratio—approximately 325 horsepower per ton—translates to thrilling acceleration and razor-sharp response, whether carving canyon roads or cruising city streets.

The interior remains true to its AMG® roots, with heated power seats, air conditioning, Bluetooth® connectivity, and a premium audio system. Even the trunk is lined in Alcantara, adding a touch of tailored luxury.

Custom 18-inch, three-piece Mercedes-Benz wheels were designed to retain the signature 300 SL hubcaps, wrapped in Michelin® Pilot® Sport Cup 2 tires. The factory AMG® high-performance brakes deliver confident, fade-free stopping power. The coilover suspension is fully adjustable for height, rebound, and compression, allowing the owner to fine-tune ride quality and cornering behavior to taste.
